Reflection and Bird Nest won awards in Champion of the Champions Award ceremony in 2015. The Award Presentation Ceremony of IJDE award 2015 was successfully held on 4 March 2015 at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewelry Show and a total of 13 awards were presented. Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi was one of the invited participants and awarded international certificates for his works, Reflection (among the finalists) and Bird Nest.
This is a double finger diamond ring designed by Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi with the upper part of the ring standing between two fingers, which makes it different from a normal ring. What is more is that there is highly polished gold sphere in the middle of the ring that reflects the light and pattern of the main body. Due to the convexity of the sphere, small patterns became larger and big holes looks smaller. The inspiration of this ring comes from “trompe l’oeil”, the art of showing something with a trick and creating an optical illusion.
The International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Award is organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organised by the Hong Kong Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewelry & Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China Ltd. since 2009.
